When it comes to sex and relationships there is no such thing as a stupid question. Here are our answers to some of the things you asked us via the GMFA website.

Can’t get hard!

I’ve noticed lately that I can’t hold an erection for too long and I only have a very small amount of cum when I blow. Is there something wrong and should I see a doctor?

Not being able to stay hard is not uncommon, and it can be hugely frustrating and impact on how you feel about yourself. Erectile dysfunction can have many causes, some physical and some psychological. Sometimes, if you are wanking too much, it becomes more difficult to get horny. If you try and not wank for a few days, you are more likely to get really horny and should have no problem getting an erection. Try watching some porn or using some of your fantasies. Sometimes not being able to stay hard is related to anxiety or stress. So if you are going through a particularly stressful time in your life, this might have an impact on your ability to get hard. Try to relax, clear your mind and take some time getting yourself horny. You could also try wearing a cock ring. That tends to stop the blood from leaving the cock and keeps you hard for longer. You can purchase these easily online or in your local sex shop. If these methods don’t work you could try Viagra or any herbal versions thereof. Be aware that medical conditions, such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure can also cause erectile dysfunction. It is important that you get screened for these conditions, especially if you are over the age of 40. Apart from erectile dysfunction, they can also cause more serious health conditions such as heart disease or strokes.

No sensation during sex

I’m a 19-year-old student who is currently having problems with sex. The problem is that my penis is just insensitive and I feel virtually nothing at all during sex. However when I masturbate, I feel loads of pleasure. I do masturbate daily so has this got something to do with it? What can I do to feel pleasure during sex again?

If you are wanking a lot on your own, you may become accustomed to a certain way of pleasuring yourself. This might be difficult for your partner to replicate. You could show him how you like to wank your cock and speak openly about what makes you feel good and what doesn’t. Also, if you know that you will be having sex in a few days, try not wanking for a while. Preserving your horniness for a couple of days usually makes your cock more sensitive and you should feel more aroused when you are having sex with your partner.  Sometimes, using condoms that are too thick also decreases the sensitivity of the penis. Try using thinner condoms or non-latex condoms like Durex Avanti, Mates Skyn or Pasante Unique, which feel almost like you are not wearing a condom.

Condoms and HIV

Can an STI or HIV be transmitted if you are wearing one condom and fuck two different guys?

If you fuck two guys with the same condom, it is possible to pass HIV from one guy to the other if one of them is HIV-positive and has a high viral load. It is also possible to pass on other sexually transmitted infections including hepatitis C, gonorrhoea and chlamydia. It is recommended that you change condoms each time you change partners.
